Unique, immersive experiences around the wildlife, nature, peoples and traditions of the expansive Sierras of Cazorla and Morena in southern Spain are at the core of this 6-day adventure in Andalucía. Not only will you have the chance to observe endemic animal species like the Iberian Lynx, Spanish Ibex and Iberian Imperial Eagles, but also relish local cuisine and products, experience the vestiges of ancient cultures long since vanished in the haze of history and learn about local customs, traditions and crafts. Olives are an integral part of it all here, so among many other local delicatessen you will get insight into some of the very finest virgin olive oil producing and of course tasting!

What to bring

    Southern Spain enjoys more than 300 days of sun in a year, however in a mountain environment sudden changes in weather conditions can occur. Winter mornings are chilly or even cold, while spring and fall midday temperatures can rise to the 30 degree Celsius mark. You should be able to layer your clothing accordingly and the so-called onion system is highly recommendable. Bring a swim suit or trunk for pool and spa use but do not over-pack, since laundry service is available at a charge.

    Solid footwear with ankle support in addition to sneakers or trail-running shoes is advisable, but you will not have to navigate difficult terrain or trails. A water bottle with mineral water will be provided, as will spotting scopes and other optical gear. However, your own set of binoculars will come in handy and you should by all means bring the photographic equipment you wish to use, since none is provided.
